Alexyz Liggins
Alexyz, who also goes by Alexyz Joi, is a Multimedia Journalist, On-Camera Host, and Digital Storyteller with a passion for creating impactful narratives across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. She is currently pursuing her second master’s degree — a Master of Science in Digital Media Management — at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, building expertise in emerging media trends and digital content strategies.
Alexyz is currently supporting the Sports Department at ABC7/KABC-TV as a Sports Intern, where she assists in researching trending sports stories, gathering sound bites, helping with interview coordination, script writing support, and packaging content for multiplatform distribution. Her work at ABC7 builds on a strong foundation of storytelling across both traditional broadcast and modern digital spaces.
She spent a significant portion of her professional career at Hollywood Unlocked, where she played a key role in the platform’s rapid growth by producing, writing, hosting, and managing digital-first content that expanded the brand’s social media reach to over two million followers. Her on-camera experience spans red carpets, press junkets, live events, and interviews, establishing her as a trusted voice in entertainment media.
Beyond Hollywood Unlocked, Alexyz has contributed as a digital producer and social media writer for Power 106 Los Angeles, and expanded into sports media through her roles with Angel City Football Club, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Los Angeles Chargers — producing real-time content, coordinating public relations efforts, and enhancing fan engagement through strategic storytelling.
Alexyz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arizona and her first Master of Arts in Mass Communication from California State University, Northridge. With a strong foundation across journalism, digital media, and communications, she is committed to telling stories that resonate — whether in front of the camera, behind the scenes, or across the ever-evolving digital landscape.
